Solar String Lights for Balcony: Size, Brightness and Installation
The Right Length for a Balcony
For a classic balcony railing, 5 m or 12 m of string lights is usually enough. The 5 m option (50 LEDs) suits small railings, while 12 m (100 LEDs) offers more creative freedom. For larger balconies or if you want to run the lights around the whole railing, the 20 m option is worth it.
Choose the Colour: Warm White or Multicolour?
Warm white (2700–3000 K) creates a cosy evening atmosphere and looks especially inviting on balconies. Cool white looks brighter and more modern. Multicolour LEDs are great for parties and celebrations. EMSMIL offers all three variants.
Brightness and LED Count
The number of LEDs determines brightness: 50 LEDs create subtle ambient lighting, 100–300 LEDs give a clearly visible light display. For a cosy balcony, 50–100 LEDs are usually more than enough.
Mounting: Where to Place the Solar Panel?
The solar panel needs direct sunlight. Attach it to the balcony railing or the wall where it gets as many hours of sun as possible. You can fix the light string itself with cable ties or clips to the railing.
Waterproofing for Outdoor Use
Look for a waterproof rating (IP44 or higher). EMSMIL lights are IP44 protected and withstand rain and splashes – ideal for permanent balcony use.
